Labor and Delivery

Open 24 hours a day. From 5 am - 9 pm, enter through Women’s Center entrance. Go to Labor and Delivery on 2nd floor. At night, use the keypad outside to call Labor and Delivery.

Cafeteria Hours

Open daily 6:30 am - 8 pm

Breakfast: 6:30 am - 10 am*

Lunch: 10:30 am - 2:30 pm*

Dinner: 5 pm - 7:30 pm*

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla offers nationally recognized care in San Diego

Located just off I-5 on Genesee Avenue, Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla has served the greater San Diego community since 1924. For more than a century, we continue to provide some of the region’s most distinguished care, including several nationally ranked specialty programs.

Our services

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla shares a campus with many physician offices and medical buildings, including the Barbey Family Emergency and Trauma Center, a Level I Trauma Center, the renowned Prebys Cardiovascular Institute and Scripps Clinic’s John R. Anderson V Medical Pavilion.


We’re also home to notable specialty programs, including cancer care, heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, labor and delivery services (including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit) and a nationally designated Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Information for patients and visitors

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla is located on a busy medical campus. Below you’ll find tips to make your visit as seamless as possible.

Directions and parking

Scripps La Jolla’s main entrance is on Genesee Avenue, between I-5 and Campus Point Drive. Once you enter our driveway, follow the signs to your destination. Download and print our campus map (PDF, 1.1 MB).


We offer paid parking in several locations throughout the campus: 


  • Underground Parking Structure A, located beneath the main hospital (9888 building)
  • Parking Structures B, located next to XiMED Medical Center (9850 building) 
  • Parking Structure D, connected by bridge to Anderson Medical Pavilion (9898 building)
  • Limited, open-air parking for emergency room patients and visitors in front of the Barbey Family Emergency and Trauma Center


Scripps charges for parking after 30 minutes. We also offer valet parking for a flat fee. Our rates are as follows: 


  • First 30 minutes: Free
  • 31 minutes to 4 hours: $6
  • 4 hours to all day: $12
  • Maximum per day: $12
  • Valet parking: $8


Parking for disabled visitors and clergy is free. Visitors with disabilities can receive validation from a valet attendant, or at the information desk after valet hours. Clergy can receive validation from the administrative office.


Parking fees must be paid using our self-pay kiosks. They accept all payment types (cash, debit and credit cards) and are conveniently located throughout the campus:


  • In front of the main hospital entrance (9888 building), near the fountain
  • In the elevator lobby within Parking Structure B
  • Inside Parking Structure D


If you prefer to pay with cash, an ATM is located on the lower level of Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla (near the elevators).

Visiting hours and guidelines

General hospital visiting times are 8 am - 8:30 pm, but may be adjusted based on the patient’s needs or wishes. Learn more about our hospital visitation policy, including guidelines for children and service animals.

Mother’s Boutique 

Breast pumps for rent or sale are available at the Mother’s Boutique breastfeeding store. Breastfeeding supplies as well as newborn clothing are also available for purchase.
