June Komar oversees Scripps information technology, government and community relations, legislative advocacy, and construction & facilities development. As chief of staff, she assists and supports the president and CEO in the management and operations of Scripps’ integrated system of health services.

Komar was named corporate executive vice president in 2010, leading Scripps strategy development and administrative services, and was named chief of staff in 2020. She served as corporate senior vice president, strategic planning and business development starting in 2002 and as vice president in 1997.

Prior to joining Scripps in 1995, Komar served as director of strategic planning at Mercy Healthcare. Before that, she served for seven years as deputy chief administrative officer for the County of San Diego and as chief operating officer and interim CEO of the County of Washtenaw, Michigan.

Komar received a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio State University and attended graduate school at the University of Michigan. She has been recognized with a Tribute to Women and Industry Award by the YWCA and by Athena San Diego with a Pinnacle Award for Individual in Life Sciences. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation.
