Marsha Reuther is one of few otolaryngologists in San Diego specializing in voice, swallowing and airway disorders. During her surgical training, Dr. Reuther developed a deep interest in helping people with voice and swallowing problems, prompting her to pursue advanced training in laryngology under the instruction of world-renowned expert Dr. Gregory Postma at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Reuther possesses expertise in voice disorders, professional voice care, swallowing disorders, extraesophageal and gastroesophageal reflux, airway surgery and reconstruction, spasmodic dysphonia, and chronic cough.
The ability to breathe, talk and swallow is inherent to excellent quality of life and any dysfunction can lead to social isolation and despair. Dr. Reuther is committed to helping people with these difficulties, thereby improving overall well-being. Her expertise extends to many areas of laryngology, including treating the aging voice and performing in-office, unsedated laryngeal procedures and, as a result, avoiding the risks of general anesthesia. Office procedures she performs include vocal fold injections, biopsies, transnasal esophagoscopy and tracheoesophageal puncture, among others.
