Dr. McGinty specializes in cardiology, focusing on preventive cardiology, particularly early identification and prevention of atherosclerotic disease, the leading cause of death in the United States. He is trained in invasive and noninvasive cardiology techniques, including exercise testing, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and coronary angiography. Dr. McGinty’s research interests include diabetic cardiovascular disease, the role of platelets and inflammation in heart attacks and the evaluation of minimally invasive therapies to treat mitral and aortic valvular heart disease.
