A pediatric sports medicine specialist, Paul Stricker, MD, has clinical interests in acute and overuse sports or exercise injuries, including evaluating these injuries in children and teenagers.
In addition to his clinical practice, he conducts research on pressure in youth sports and the effects on parents and their children. He is also a member of multiple professional societies including the American Academy of Pediatrics – Executive Council for Sports Medicine, the US Olympic Committee for Sports Medicine, the National Council for Youth Sports and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, where he served as president.
Dr. Stricker was a team physician for the 2000 Olympics and has been named as one of “America’s Best Doctors” and one of “America’s Best Pediatricians.”
He approaches his child athlete patients with their total health and long term health in mind. He believes it is important to remember that they are a child first and an athlete second.
When he is not caring for patients, he enjoys swimming, spinning and cooking.
