Dr. Michael Skyhar specializes in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, providing knee and shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff surgery, joint drainage and other procedures. He is currently a physician at CORE Orthopaedic Medical Center, where the philosophy of treatment is defined as comprehensive operative and non-operative care of orthopaedic injuries and disorders.
He strives to provide comprehensive non-surgical care when possible and surgical precision when necessary. He has published and presented numerous articles about sports medicine injuries.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Scripps Ximed Medical Group, and the California Medical Association and served as the chief of staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Skyhar is active in the community, treating athletes on local sports teams. He currently serves as Team Physician for Palomar College.
