Dale Mitchell, MD, specializes in obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN), as well as minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. His practice includes a comprehensive range of general women’s care including well woman exams, basic infertility treatments, heavy menstrual bleeding, contraception, sterilization and menopause, including hormone replacement therapy. He is also experienced in all areas of normal and high-risk pregnancies.
In addition to general gynecology, Dr. Mitchell treats more complex gynecologic issues, including gynecologic surgery. He believes in using minimally invasive procedures whenever possible, using surgical interventions only when needed. He provides the full gamut of hysteroscopic and laparoscopic procedures, as well as office based procedures such as ultrasound, amniocentesis, colposcopy and leep conization.
Dr. Mitchell believes the best doctor-patient relationship is a partnership. He acts as a guide for his patients, providing options and information, so they can make informed decisions about their care.
Outside of his clinical practice, he has an interest in new technologies related to stem cell therapy and web-based telemedicine. He is also the current chairman for the department of obstetrics and gynecology for Scripps Clinic Medical Group.
In his spare time he enjoys mountain and road biking, downhill skiing, softball, reading, home brewing, playing guitar in a neighborhood garage band, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
