Arash “Dr. I” Izadpanah, MD, is a dermatologist trained in medical, surgical and laser treatment of skin disease. He cares for both children and adults with a variety of dermatological conditions, including skin cancer, psoriasis, acne and warts. He has extensive training in surgical removal of cutaneous tumors. He also has a strong interest in laser therapy of photoaging and inflammatory skin disorders such as vitiligo and alopecia areata. His passion for dermatology and the immunological basis of skin disorders has led to extensive medical research during his training. He has received research grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Izadpanah is an active leader in the dermatology community. He currently serves on the board of directors for the California Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery (Calderm), which advocates legislation at the state and national levels, leading to improved care and protection of patients. He has also served as president of the San Diego Dermatological Society and was chief dermatology resident at the University of California, San Diego.
His goal is to provide thorough, compassionate, efficient and courteous care.
His hobbies include serving as a volunteer dermatologist both locally and abroad, following his favorite sports teams, traveling with his wife, learning about different cultures, hiking and caring for his growing collection of fruit trees.
