Biography
Ni-Cheng Liang, MD, is a pulmonologist who has clinical interests in treating all patients with respiratory issues combining traditional allopathic medical approaches with integrative medicine approaches. She helps those with lung disease, such as COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis among other obstructive lung diseases, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary nodules, lung cancer, pulmonary embolisms and associated deep vein thromboses.
Dr. Liang uses pulmonary function testing, chest imaging and ultrasound techniques to assist in diagnosing respiratory ailments. She also has expertise in COPD care delivery. She incorporates integrative medicine therapies, particularly mindfulness-based practices, to help optimize the mind-body connection to improve upon the holistic well-being of her patients.
Using a team-based approach, partnering with patients, caregivers and other healthcare professionals, Dr. Liang ensures a high quality of care delivery. She has been practicing medicine for over 10 years, and has been practicing pulmonary medicine for over six years. She has participated in clinical trials related to COPD, bone marrow transplant patients, mindfulness in people with chronic lung disease, as well as research related to wellness initiatives for physician trainees and faculty physicians.
Dr. Liang was the recipient of the American Lung Association Lung Health Provider of the Year award in 2019 along with its inaugural Outstanding Mother Award. Dr. Liang is a member of the American Thoracic Society and the California Thoracic Society.
Her hobbies include spending time with her family, practicing yoga, meditating, and paddling via paddleboards or dragon boats.
