Jessica Funk, FNP, is a family nurse practitioner who specializes in the care of cardiology patients with structural and valvular heart conditions. She works in conjunction with cardiologists to provide a personalized care plan for every patient. Jessica’s mission is to improve her patients’ cardiovascular health, quality of life and independence. She enjoys guiding her patients through their procedures, answering their questions and working closely with them during recovery.
She was inspired to become a nurse practitioner by the many women in her family who work in medicine. Her health care journey began in 2010 when she volunteered with Global Medical Brigades to staff a rural primary care clinic in Honduras. Before joining Scripps, Jessica worked for several years as an operating room nurse specializing in cardiothoracic surgery and neurosurgery.
In her spare time Jessica enjoys reading, swing dancing, rock climbing and spending time with family and friends.
