CBS 8 News Explores National Girls and Women in Sports Day

National Girls and Women in Sports Day is Feb. 5 and CBS 8 News interviewed Laika Nur, MD, about the many health benefits of sports participation. Dr. Nur also shared that female athletes have a heightened risk for certain types of sports-related injuries, and discussed practical strategies to help prevent them. Dr. Nur is a sports medicine specialist with Scripps Clinic and serves as head team physician for the San Diego Mojo professional women’s volleyball team.
