A number of TV stations across the country have run an Ivanhoe Broadcasting story about a treatment now available to Scripps Health patients for intermittent, or paroxysmal, atrial fibrillation (AFib)

The treatment involves newly approved pulsed field ablation technology to neutralize targeted cells in the heart responsible for the common irregular heartbeat.

Scripps Clinic interventional cardiologist Douglas Gibson, MD, was the first in San Diego County to use the technology following its approval by the Food and Drug Administration.
