Three months after being shot in the head while responding to an emergency call, police Sgt. Anthony Elliott has completed the brain injury rehab outpatient program at the Scripps Encinitas Outpatient Rehabilitation Center.

CBS 8 reported on the milestone and Elliott’s inspirational story as part of the station’s Zevely Zone feature.

Elliott was initially treated at the Barbey Family Emergency and Trauma Center at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla immediately after the shooting. He finished the brain injury rehab outpatient program in just seven weeks, which was near-record time according to his therapists.
