Scripps MD Anderson expert shares the latest insights

April is National Oral Cancer Awareness Month and Brendan Gaylis, MD, shared insights into prevention and early detection strategies with local media. Dr. Gaylis discussed an increase in HPV-related oral cancers and the importance of HPV vaccines as a preventive measure. He also talked about the importance of regular mouth exams to help with early diagnosis. Dr. Gaylis is director of the head and neck cancer program at Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center, and is a Scripps Clinic physician.
