CEO Chris Van Gorder interviewed about COVID-19 surge letter sent to patients

Scripps Health President and CEO Chris Van Gorder was recently interviewed by media about a letter sent by the health system to patients updating them about the ongoing COVID-19 surge.

Featured prominently in the letter was an appeal to “be kind.” Van Gorder explained in his interview that Scripps staff members are encountering a high amount of anger and hostility from many patients who don’t seem to appreciate the hard work and sacrifice they continue to deliver as we enter the third year of the pandemic.
