Breast medical oncologist shares latest treatment advances

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Carrie Costantini, MD, recently spoke with media outlets about important developments in patient care. She discussed two recent treatment advances, including a targeted therapy for advanced breast cancer and an immunotherapy for early-stage disease. Dr. Costantini also emphasized the importance of keeping current with screening mammograms and adopting healthy diet and exercise habits.

Dr. Costantini is a breast medical oncologist with Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center and is a Scripps Clinic physician.
