Surge structures return as emergency rooms fill with patients
As COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations have risen once again, media outlets have recently reported on efforts at Scripps Health hospitals to prepare for increasing patient volumes and to implement new staff and visitor vaccination orders from the state.
Scripps President and CEO Chris Van Gorder and Ghazala Sharieff, MD, MBA and Scripps chief medical officer for acute care and clinical excellence, have discussed a number of efforts including the re-opening of surge tents outside emergency rooms.
