A local CBS Radio program that honors outstanding nurses has named Cynthia Clarke-Horvath, registered nurse at the Ambulatory Surgery Center on the campus of Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, as its December CARE Award winner.

Representatives from CBS Radio stations KYXY 96.5 and Energy 103.7 and award sponsors Azusa Pacific University and the Hotel del Coronado presented the award. Clarke-Horvath was nominated by a friend who described her as "an outstanding example of a professional nurse: caring, reliable, dedicated, compassionate and competent."

Scripps captured the moment when the award was presented.
