Scripps Researcher Quoted in LA Times Article About Billionaire Investor
Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong spoke recently at Scripps genomics conference

Patrick Soon-Shiong, the billionaire surgeon who launched the Cancer MoonShot 2020 effort earlier this year, is “a man of big ideas and big resources,” according to Scripps Health cardiologist and Chief Academic Officer Eric Topol, MD.
Dr. Topol, who also directs the Scripps Translational Science Institute (STSI), made the comments in a Los Angeles Times article about Dr. Soon-Shiong’s recent investment in the newspaper’s parent company, Tribune Publishing.
Dr. Soon-Shiong was a featured speaker earlier this year at STSI’s annual Future of Genomic Medicine conference.
