Press conference at Prebys Cardiovascular Institute featured baseball legend
Scripps heart failure patient and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Rod Carew recently announced that he is being evaluated for a heart transplant just five months after Scripps doctors saved his live by implanting a left ventricular assist device (LVAD), a type of heart pump.
The announcement came during a press conference held at Prebys Cardiovascular Institute, where Carew received care for heart failure.
