Scripps Patients Benefit from New Medical Group Partnership
New 500-physician association signs first payer contract
Scripps Health is responding to changes in health care by building stronger partnerships with its affiliated physicians. Three large Scripps-affiliated medical groups — Connect-the-Docs Multi-Specialty Network, XIMED Medical Group and San Diego Physicians Medical Group — have joined together to create a new integrated physician organization partnering with Scripps Health.
Together, the new independent practice association group has more than 500 primary care and specialty physicians in offices throughout San Diego County.
Scripps Physicians recently signed its first payer contract with Health Net for Medicare Advantage managed care in collaboration with Scripps Health.
Drs. Reuben Farris, Marc Sedwitz and Scott Eisman and Scripps Health President and CEO Chris Van Gorder praised this coming together of three strong medical groups under the Scripps name.
KUSI was among news media who covered the announcement.
