Scripps Clinic medical oncologist Marin Xavier, MD, appeared on the KUSI Morning News May 14 to offer perspective into Angelina Jolie’s recent preventive double mastectomy. For women who carry the BRCA1 gene, risk reduction mastectomies decrease the risk of breast cancer by approximately 90 percent.
