Fifth Annual Renaissance Ball Honors Audrey Geisel
SAN DIEGO – The stars were in alignment for Scripps Clinic and Scripps Green Hospital’s Renaissance Ball VI, Imagine, held on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine. Proceeds from the ball have raised$1.4 million over the past six years to further the lifesaving care at Scripps Clinic and Scripps Green Hospital.
The evening’s highlight was when honorary chair Audrey S. Geisel, wife of the late Theodor Geisel – fondly known as Dr. Seuss – was honored for her ongoing support of Scripps for more than 50 years. Geisel’s dedication and commitment were recognized with a star named in her honor. The Audrey S. Geisel star resides in the constellation Andromeda, located in the sky’s Southern Hemisphere.
The black-tie gala, chaired by Karen Gabsch, benefited a sophisticated and intuitive wayfinding signage system to help patients and their families navigate through the Scripps Clinic and Scripps Green Hospital campus with ease and efficiency.
