Located next to Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista in the Bay Medical Plaza on 4th Avenue, Scripps Diabetes Center offers programs and services to people with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes.
Our services are available in English and Spanish, and include:
One-on-one appointments
For people with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes, certified diabetes educators provide information about self-management skills, home blood glucose monitoring and potential diabetes complications.
Group classes
Nurses, dietitians and diabetes health care providers address topics related to managing type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Individual questions are answered in an open discussion format. Program includes four core classes and one follow-up.
Nutritional counseling, meal planning and exercise strategies for weight management
Registered dietitians offer patients, physicians and members of the public nutrition advice designed to help prevent or control diabetes.
Support groups
Peer support groups are facilitated by a health coach with more than 10 years of experience supporting the diabetes community. Family members are welcome to attend.
Limited free parking is available on-site and on 4th Avenue. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment to allow adequate time to find a parking spot. Download and print our campus map (PDF, 970 KB).
