Conference Overview

The 2025 Trauma Luau will delve into the behind-the-scenes aspects of trauma care, focusing on how policies, staff, and government agencies contribute to excellence. Over the past year, our trauma service has saved lives with our innovative “OR Pit Stop” process. Our patient population is as diverse as our landscape, and trauma significantly impacts individuals and families. We will explore our management strategies for patients with violent behavior or psychosis and discuss how we support our staff during these challenging situations. Our injury prevention program will highlight their dedicated efforts to keep our community safe. Additionally, we will feature a special guest appearance by policeman Anthony Elliott, who will share his personal experience as a trauma patient. From the border to our communities and hospitals, San Diego is setting a high standard for trauma care.
